Below are some great websites that will help you research specific topics relating to our specific units.

Shakespeare and Romeo and Juliet Unit:

http://nfs.sparknotes.com

This website is great when a certain Shakespearean passage may have confused you. No fear Shakespeare is an affiliate of Spark Notes and is meant to be used as a tool to supplement your reading, not a substitution. However, I know Shakespeare can be difficult at times, and No Fear Shakespeare will give you a translation to the text for a better understanding of what is going on in Shakespeare's works.

http://www.shakespeare-online.com/

This link is a great one if you want to learn more about Shakespeare. It gives answers to questions about the man behind the words and is a really cool site to explore. There are many things that we as a class are unable to cover about Shakespeare in our unit, but if you are interested in learning more, this is a great website!

http://www.william-shakepeare.info/william-shakespeare-dictionary.htm

This link will take you straight to a Shakespearean dictionary. There are many words that Shakespeare used that are no longer in use today and sometimes we need a little help figuring out what they mean. This is the perfect site for just this. If you are confused while reading your Romeo and Juliet text.

http://www.bardweb.net/england.html

This is another great website if you want to explore more about Shakespeare. However, this particular website also has many more links available so you can research pretty much anything you want not only about Shakespeare, but also Elizabethan England and the circumstances of the time.

http://shakespeare.palomar.edu

This is an educational site about Shakespeare. This site also provides links to other sites that are beneficial in your research of Shakespeare.

http://www.online-literature.com/shakespeare

This is probably my favorite site of all that I have listed on Shakespeare. The reason that this is my favorite site, is because it is not limited to just Shakespeare research (however, the link above takes you directly to the Shakespeare page), but the search feature allows you to research other facets of literature. This is a good website to keep in you arsenal when researching all types of literature, it gives you a background of anything you can think of!

http://www.renfaire.com/Language/insults.html

You will have a lot of fun on this website! This website shares all about Shakespearean insults (and their are a lot of them)! This website is also a lot of fun because you can generate your own Shakespearean insults. We may return to this website later on in the unit for a fun day!

http://www.shakespearesglobe.com

This is the official page to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. It is a really fun site to explore if you are thinking about ever visiting London and the Globe Theatre. This website will tell you about the history of the Globe, productions that are currently being performed at The Globe, and the restaurants that are also inside the Globe. There is also a link to buy Globe Theatre gifts that you can shipped to the states (although I am guessing that the shipping to the U.S. is pretty pricey).

http://www.elizabethan-era.org.uk

This site will really help you explore the days of Shakespeare and the Elizabethan era in history. This site has links to Elizabethan food (it even has recipes), sports, and music. If you are really interested in the Elizabethan time period, this is a great site to explore!

http://www.elizabethancostume.net

This page is dedicated to the study of the dress of Elizabethan era. This site is really neat, it has many different links to all different types of Elizabethan dress (formal, casual, outerwear, and more). If you are doing a presentation about this era, this is a great website to explore to get ideas on how you can construct a period appropriate costume.
